October 2016: Fitness Challenge

It has not been a week since I did the Sea Gull Century, but I am already beginning to fear that I will lose all my fitness gains by not pushing myself due to the lack of a century or event during the winter months. Hence, I have decided to set a goal of riding a 60+ and a 40+ mile ride during the last two weekends of October 2016.

Legend: Planned/ Actual

October 15-16/2016

  • Saturday (15): 30 Miles Ride/ 16 Miles Ride
  • Sunday (16): 20-30 Miles Ride/ 30.5 Miles Ride

October 17-23/2016

  • Monday: Rest/Rest
  • Tuesday: 1 Hr Ride after work in DC/Rest
  • Wednesday: Kettlebells, HIIT/Rest
  • Thursday: Swim/Rest
  • Friday: Kettlebells, HIIT/Rest
  • Saturday (22): 20 Mile Ride  (VietVelo Metric Century is an option) or Rest/Rest
  • Sunday (23): 60+ Mile Ride (Leesburg to DC and Return) CHALLENGE #1/ 18 Miles Ride Velocipede Social

Reflection: Neck and back stiffness has kept me out of workouts. A problem related to injury is frustration and then depression, I tend to eat when I am down. Must put a rein on it. Apart from that, the velocipede social was a fun outing, fall has come and it was a chilly morning but the ride and coffee was well worth it.

October 24-30/2016

  • Monday: Rest/ KPP 1×10, KPPO 1×10
  • Tuesday: 1 Hr Ride after work in DC/Rest
  • Wednesday: Kettlebells, HIIT/Rest
  • Thursday: Swim/Rest
  • Friday: Kettlebells, HIIT
  • Saturday (29): 20-30 Mile Ride (Breast Cancer Awareness Rides are an option)
  • Sunday (30): 40+ Mile Ride (Leesburg, Woodburn Climb, Purcellville, Leesburg) CHALLENGE #2
